Kamnik – Savinja Alps lay near the Slovenian’s capital, Ljubljana, and next to Julian Alps and Karavanke represent one of the three mountain ranges in Slovenia. Kamnik – Savinja Alps are the kingdom of the mountain goat, Alpine mountain huts, pleasant paths and forgotten spots, rarely visited by people.
In one of the hiking tours Slovenia ‘World of the Kamnik – Savinja Alps’, the path will take us along the colourful canyon of Kamniška Bistrica river, that in some parts carved a 35 m deep and 2 m wide river bed in the limestone in Predaselj. In Kamniška Bistrica we will take a look at the lake and hunting residence of the former Yugoslav president Tito, which was designed by the most important Slovenian architect Jožef Plečnik. We will take a look at Velika Planina, the most famous village of Alpine herdsmen in Slovenia, where we can try fresh, still warm, milk or some other dairy product. A few hours away we can find peaks with an altitude of 2500 m and one of them, the mountain beauty Ojstrica (2350 m), will also be our destination within "hiking tours Slovenia" on the last day.
